What is Day of Giving?

The University of Findlay's Day of Giving is a single day every year when Oilers everywhere join together to celebrate UF and support the student experience.

What is the Day of Giving Goal?

600 donors. When you make a gift to the University of Findlay on Day of Giving, your support will help prepare the next generation of Oilers to go on to make discoveries, start new businesses, inspire others, and even save lives.

How do I make a donation?

University of Findlay has partnered with GiveCampus to provide a seamless donor experience on our Day of Giving. Click “Give Now” in the top navigation to create a GiveCampus account. If you prefer to make your gift over the phone, please call our office at 419–434–5653

Where can I designate my gift?

We're asking all alumni, parents, employees, students, parents, and friends to make a gift in any amount throughout our Day of Giving. You can choose to designate your gift to one of several different areas of campus: The Findlay Fund (greatest impact), Findlay Forward Scholarships, or an area of personal interest.

How can I make the most out of my gift?

You don’t have to make a large gift to make a large impact. Make the most out of your gift by participating in social media and donor challenges and matches and/or by giving to the area that has the greatest impact at UF - the Findlay Fund.

What is The Findlay Fund?

The Findlay Fund is the philanthropic engine that drives our daily operations. Support of the Findlay Fund has the biggest impact for our students, faculty and staff as it gives university leadership the flexible funding to both answer our most urgent needs and take advantage of unforeseen opportunities. Whether those needs are for structure, equipment, programs, or scholarships, the needs are always driven by the progression of students.

What are Findlay Forward Scholarships?

Whether you want to provide support to students with the greatest financial need or support a specific area of passion, the Findlay Forward Scholarship Initiative allows you to tailor your gift. Provide immediate tuition scholarships for students in any program, designate your funds to support scholarships within the college of your choice, and support scholarships for students to participate in enrichment activities.

What is the difference between matches and challenges?

Matches and challenges are similar; the key difference is that challenges are milestone-based (e.g. if 100 people donate, I will give $250) and matches are made on a per donor basis (e.g. I will match up to $500 on a dollar-for-dollar basis for the next $500 that is donated).

How do challenges work?

Challenges are ALL OR NOTHING. When you start a challenge you’re basically saying you will give $XXX if, and only if, a certain condition is met.
For example: “I will give $50, if and only if, 50 more donors give today.”

How do matches work?

Matches are DOLLAR PER DOLLAR or DOLLAR PER DONOR.
You are willing to match $XXX per donor up to $XXX.
  1. First decide the amount you wish to give.
  2. Then decide if you wish to match dollar per dollar or dollar per donor.
  3. Indicate your match ends when the Day of Giving ends.
  4. Consider optional guidelines for your match:
    Examples:

    1. Match a specific affiliation
    2. Match a specific class year
    3. Match a specific designation
    4. Match a list of email addresses

Will my payment information be secure?

Yes. All payments will be processed using a secure online giving form. The information collected during 24 Hours of Giving will be used solely by University of Findlay.

Is there a minimum donation amount?

No, donations in all amounts are graciously accepted.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes! All donations are tax-deductible. You will receive an email donation receipt after your donation is processed and a tax receipt via mail.

When will my credit card be charged?

Unless you have created a match or challenge, your credit card will be charged immediately.

What if I want my donation to be anonymous?

No problem! When making a donation, you can choose to not have your name displayed on the campaign page.
